Research

In addition to the educational campaign, the timely detection of invasive species and the monitoring of their expansion are extremely relevant. The timely detection of invasive alien species is a prerequisite for its removal and/or control.

There are different researches and monitoring currently being done in Croatia – invasive crayfish in the rivers Drava, Mura and Korana, Desert Falso Indigo (Amorpha fruticosa) in the continental part of Croatia, the Killer Algae (Caulerpa taxifolia) and others.

The increasing interest of scientist in Croatia is manifested in a large number of published scientific works concerning invasive alien species.
